Benjamin Turns 1

Benjamin turned one year old this week. The funny thing is he never really celebrated on his actual birthdate because he was born on February 29th. We have been asked will we celebrate his birthday in February or March. Well, since he was born in February I do believe we will keep it in February. Brian jokes that he will be the only 16 year old celebrating his birthday at Chuck # Che#@se. Not likely since I can't stand that place and I am the one who plans the parties.

We had some friends over to help us celebrate Benjamin's monkey themed birthday. Benjamin is such a special little boy to so many people but we did not want to have a huge party because he usually likes to sleep more than party and we did not want to overdo it for him. Sarah made Benjamin's birthday cake which made it even more special for our little man. When you are the youngest of the family you tend to not need as much since whatever it is you would want or need is probably already in the house. However, mommy and daddy saw this little bike and knew it was made just for Benjamin. Complete with a shade and drink holder (for Mommy's diet Coke), the tricycle has an adjustable handle which lets even Ethan push him.

Our little man has grown so much in his first year. We have loved watching Benjamin do so many new things and even get his first two bottom teeth in. Benjamin's smile lights up not only the whole room but anyone's heart who is within visual proximity. As each day goes by we get to marvel at what a miracle this little boy is and how blessed we are to be his mommy and daddy! Now to start planning next year's party for our little chunky monkey!

Benjamin is all ready for his monkey birthday party to start.

What a privalege it is to be the parents of
this very special and handsome little boy!

David nd Sarah came to celebrate with Benjamin
Auntie Linda brought smiles to Benjamin.
Benjamin just loves his Sarah!

Auntie Linda made this personalized monkey burp
cloth just for our little monkey.

Sarah made Benjamin his birthday cake.  She did a fantastic job and everyone
was talking about how yummy and cute it was.

Even though Benjamin does not eat by mouth
he still got the first piece of cake with some
chocolate ice cream.

Mommy and Daddy gave Benjamin his
first set of wheels but he was a bit upset
it did not come with a cd player for all of
his Barney music.
Look at how handsome
he will look in his new
outfit.
