Adding On

Well I think we have found the last place we have to add on to our home: the back patio.  In our ever growing quest to make our home fit the needs of our children we have learned to be most creative and efficient.  Since our little ones play a bit differently we needed a room where the toys that are safe for them are the only ones there and that there are no sources of water (Owen's big obsession is with ANY water source).  Hence, my idea for my wonderful husband to practice his skills at creating spaces for our children.

Our back patio was a covered one and a great place for the children to play only they could not play when it was raining, hot,or cold.  That left only about couple months and even then we could not just let them play because it was outdoors.  Last month we had someone put up the framing and walls for this new room and we finished by painting, putting in the flooring, and all the other tidbits to get the room ready.  I found chalkboard paint as well as dry erase board paint and made two large areas for the children to get creative and Brian framed the areas off.  Tomorrow I will make a couple of quick curtains for the two windows and then we will move in all the toys.

So.....stay tuned for the great big unveiling of the little one's new playroom where the fun begins and welcomes anyone willing to play!!
