Playroom Reveal

As promised the reveal of the Burman Bunch Kids' Playroom.



 

The day finally came when we could let the little ones into the room that has held their attention  

 for the past month as it was undergoing its transformation from patio to playroom.

 

I painted a large part of the wall with chalkboard paint and Brian framed it with leftover baseboard.

 

Owen constantly tips over the toy box which holds 100 plastic balls
so I had Brian adhere it to the wall so the ball pit could be used as that.
It really made me giggle when Owen made a line straight for the toy box to tip it over
and when he tried it would not move.  The look on his face was one of
"wait a minute I could do this before. What happened?"

We used 2 sets of cubbies we had, attached them together and then
screwed them to a bench/shelf we had to create our toy shelf. I was going to
make a set of curtains but decided the sunlight was great natural lighting.

Right by the dolphin scooter is the dry erase board I also painted onto
the wall.  We used the two main brick walls that were already in place as
the patio so we only had to build two walls.  The table set is a gift from Miss Teresa
so the kids can eat their lunch out lunch if we choose.

This is the view into the playroom from our kitchen table/school room.
We kept the original door frame and placed the door that was there as the one
to go outside.  When it is playtime we put up the gate to keep little ones and toys in
a contained area.  Brian picked out a linoleum floor that has a built in cushion so it helps
keep the ground soft and reduces the noise from toys which meet with the floor.

The children have had a blast in their new playroom.  The original ramp is still there so Reagan can also get down there in her wheel chair.  It helps a lot to have a place that Owen  can go to and just play while us not having to worry if he is finding the bathroom to turn on all faucets :)  Yes, that happens quite often with Owen!  Right now Carrington and Benjamin do not go in the room while the triplets are in there as they are too small but when the room is empty Carrington will scoot her way in there and just have a ball!  Mission Accomplished!  Many thanks to my wonderful husband for always being willing to help me create what would work best for our children!!
