Tonight Amelia decided she would show the doctors just what she is all about and how she held on all those years until her family came to bring her home. Amelia has been slowly improving and was able to be moved to a regular room on the pediatrics floor tonight. She is still not out of the woods yet and no definitive reason has been found as to why her body reacted the way it did but Amelia is a fighter and she is covered in prayers.
As of right now Amelia's labs are moving slowly in the direction they need to be. Jenny will be speaking with the doctors tomorrow to make sure they turn over every possible stone when it comes to Amelia's health especially before the full onset of the cold season. Jenny was able to get Amelia to take in a total of only 3 ounces of formula all day but that is more than she has taken in 3 days so WAY TO GO AMELIA!!!!!!! Her health is still fragile but the best part is that Jenny has had her on such a good formula (Amelia started on this formula back in March when we brought it over in the donations) that the doctors have said that it is that formula started way back then that has given Amelia what she has needed to get this far. Remember she came home weighing just over 10 pounds and in only a few months gained almost 12 more pounds. The plan is to continue Amelia on that very same formula and try to increase how much she can take each day.
Amelia was surprised with a visit from some of her siblings today. Jenny said that when they got there Amelia was just laying on her bed until the children started calling out her name and she turned on her side and started smiling as big as the day. Of course if I had a visit by those same children I would light up like a Christmas tree:) Jenny hopes to get more answers tomorrow so in the mean time please continue your prayers for Amelia and her whole family. Oh and one more answer to prayer is that Jenny's work has been incredibly compassionate and understanding through this all and has told her to not worry about her schedule until Amelia is back to good health.
And here is a special picture of just how sweet Amelia is as she catches up on some sleep.

Just like Carrington, it is so amazing to see the pictures and realize that is the same child just a short time ago. Thanking God so much for caring for these sweet kiddos and sending loving families to rescue them and love them forever.
Thanks so much for keeping us updated! I was thinking about her today and wondering how things were going. We will keep praying!
