For The Love of Katina

Last year we, as a family, decided that we wanted Carrington's blog to serve another purpose along with sharing our family. We decided that it was so important to help other children find families so they could shine and grow and be loved just like our princess.  So we started sharing pictures and profiles of children who we hoped to do just that.

Along the way we have been super blessed to also come alongside some amazing and dedicated ministries who strive to truly help the orphans and those families who long to adopt.  We have truly found those ministries to have the truest of intention and are very honored to be a part of their amazing efforts.

Project HOPEFUL’s Mission is to educate, encourage, and enable families and individuals to advocate for and adopt children with HIV/AIDS and other of the most overlooked children for adoption.

To be a voice for the weakest among us

.To encourage the body of Christ to extend their faith through adoption and orphan care.

 To support families in the process of adoption through prayer, education and grants.

There is a sweet little girl by the name of Katina who is being featured on Grave 

Haven's website. She is a beautiful 9 year old little girl who lives in an orphanage in 

Eastern Europe and has been waiting for so long for a family to call her own. 

Often children who are older are overlooked because many are afraid of the "issues" that

they hear often come with older institutionalized children.  Yes, the older the children

are the more they have encountered in their lives but that does not mean these children

have any less of a need for love, nourishment, compassion, education, understanding,

guidance, and companionship.  In fact, these children are often all too aware that it seems

to be the little ones who are chosen and not older children such as themselves.  How sad 

is it that the older children then feel not worthy simply because they were not chosen?

I can't tell you that you can do it. You can adopt an older child.  That is not my position. Only God can help you determine that.  What I can do is tell you that no matter how old a child is they all need the love of a family.  Read about Katina.  Pray for her and pray for a family to answer the call to cross thousands of miles to bring her home.
