Ethan was only 1 1/2 years old when we became foster parents for the state of Texas. He was always lucky to have boys who came to stay with us that were just a bit older and played so well with Ethan. When it came time for our adoption of the triplets he was so excited to think he was going to have 2 older brothers to play with. We were told that our boys were walking, potty trained, and could talk. Now we knew that even though the boys were almost 6 years old each and Ethan was only 3 1/2 years old that they would probably be close if not a bit younger than Ethan in terms of ability. When we first met the boys, Ethan was so sad because all he could see was that they were both babies; both in size and ability. He so wanted a brother to play with. Ethan is such an active boy who loves being busy and just playing. As his parents we want to celebrate that part of our son. God made him just the way He wanted him and we were blessed to be chosen to give birth to this amazing boy!
Fast forward 3 years and he is still going strong! Quite often our blog post focus on what our adopted children are doing and what things we are discovering about them but I also want to make sure that when Ethan looks back and reads his mommy's blog (because I know he will) I want him to know that his goals and milestones were just as important.
Since we home school Ethan was able to choose what sport he wanted to do for his p.e. class and he chose horseback riding.
His excitement is so contagious about boy things such as his Bey Blades he received for his birthday.
The bond between Ethan and Madelaine is one that words cannot even describe.
Baseball has become his passion and a special bond he shares with his daddy.
When mommy is not near Madelaine is Ethan's source of comfort, security, and strength.
| Ethan has a special connection with Carrington that often sees him protecting her and taking care of his little sister even though it
is only 10 months that separates them. He is her knight.

Ethan brings entertainment and joy to our house and family. He certainly is stern in his desires and often quite boisterous in his thoughts but that is what makes our son himself. Just years ago when I gave birth to Ethan I knew he was different than his sister and I wondered what path he would take our family down. I am so proud of my boy! He can make us laugh like no other, hits a baseball with such gusto I often fear for bodily injuries to myself from his strong hits, and most of all I love when he crawls into bed with me for a quick snuggle which if followed by the question of "what's for breakfast mom?" Ethan "cheeks" Burman, mommy loves you so much!!
Now for your entertainment, especially those of you who are old enough to remember this song, I present to you Ethan's first lesson in drums. Now you too can witness a drummer in the making.
