Thank you to each and everyone of you that have prayed and asked about little Amelia Brown as well as those who have donated so kindly to bless the Brown family. Little Amelia is holding her own due to so much of her mom's experience as a pediatric ICU nurse. I so wish I could have had half of her knowledge and experience when we brought Carrington home.
Amelia is taking her formula and a bit of cereal with each feed. Although she is not up to what the doctors want her to be in order to be considered "full feed" she IS taking her formula and cereal better than ever. Jenny has been working round the clock to make sure both girls get all of the nutrition they can handle and has also had to return to work full time as an ICU nurse. She says she feels so blessed to have avoided the hospital stays for NOW but has not ruled out any hospital stay. When I shared with her about the chip in her eyes welled up with tears because as we all know, despite having health insurance, there are just some things insurance won't pay for and of course those infamous CO-Pays! Both girls are on special formula and are taking that well. The girls were receiving the formula that Jenny and I brought over back in March and that appears to have helped them so Jenny's doctors would like her to continue feeding the girls that same formula.
Upcoming for the girls are the major appointments with all of the specialists the girls will need to be under the care of. Jenny is so thankful to the chip in blessings as that will help to pay for those tests and for the formula which is not covered by insurance. Just as many of us adoptive families know and do declare we can and will be able to provide for our children there are times when it is just great not to worry about "appearances" and just get to bless a family. Thank you to each of you who is sharing the chip in on your FB, blogs, etc to help the Brown family. I know for our family what a huge relief it was to have that extra fund available for Carrington especially when we had to miss work to be at the hospital for her and for the things insurance so flippantly decided they would not cover. Please do not stop sharing how we can help the Brown family. Those of us in the adoption world who have at one time or another been blessed by the kindness of others know what that has meant to our family.
