CHECK FINGERPRINTS OF GOD POST FOR NEW UPDATES
We have been hard at work the past couple weeks praying for God's direction for our family and this blog. Many of you wrote to us wondering if something was wrong. There was even speculation by those in the adoption world that we were in some trouble. But speculation never gets one very far. The truth is we, as a family, really wanted to share with the world our true passion for the orphan. A passion not led by financial gain or fame but one fueled by God Himself. While we were really spending time carefully thinking about the plan God has for us it became so clear to Brian and I that we are truly meant to sacrifice all we are and all we have for the orphans of this world. It is not clear where this will lead us but we have prayed. For the past 3 1/2 years our hearts have been increasingly opened to orphans with special needs. In fact, we have adopted a "Burman Bunch" of such children. Money is not always the answer to helping, although it certainly can do many things, it is the heart of people who will really execute the plan of God
.
Some say they want to help but just don't have the money.
We know the absence of money.
Some say that their hands are full with the number of children they have.
We know hands being full.
Some say it's a shame for children to be treated like that.
We have seen children treated like "that" first hand.
God says to take care of the widow and orphans.
We plan to do just that with.........
CARRINGTON'S CRUSADE!
Just 2 years ago our family was called once again by God to head over to Ukraine for a little girl known to many as Tori. We were certain we were only bringing one child home this time but God was not certain. Ultimately we were approved to bring home two children and decided that is what we needed to do. A friend told us about this little girl she saw day after day sitting alone so neglected and in need of a family. We knew if this little girl came to be our daughter she would NEVER be alone or neglected. Fast forward several months and much heartache later and our little Carrington would arrive on U.S. soil only to be rushed to the hospital to begin 5 weeks of extremely delicate medical care. You see, Carrington was one of those orphans who had not been blessed with love, medical care, and nutrition. It was so difficult to watch as she lay in so much pain yet did not want anyone to touch her because that was such a foreign concept to her it only brought pain. Today Carrington is a healthy, happy, loved, thriving, and beautiful little girl who brings complete joy to our family!
Our Carrington was safe but there were so many other children we saw who were not. At first our reaction was to cry out to God why was this happening to precious children were were so helpless. Slowly, we gained hold of our emotions into a purpose, a focus. We will forever keep our hearts and homes open to orphans with special needs. The details of that are not set in stone because we do not want to say "this or that is what we will do" and miss out on God's greater plan. If God calls us to open our homes to adopting more children than that is what we will do. If He desires for us to travel on mission trips to help organizations such as TBACT or His Kids,Too or Sheltering wings we will do that. For right now, we feel led to launch a major campaign to bring more awareness to orphans with special needs who are waiting to be brought home to a loving family. We have asked everyone we can to post, link, tell, email...whatever to our blog to share with the world about some very special children who God has given us to share with you. If each person does just that the number of people who will be reached is completely unfathomable. I know so many friends who are incredible advocates for the orphan. Advocates with the purest of hearts. They are not in it for fame or money or even selfish gain. No! These are followers of God's command to take care of the orphan.
I am in no way a computer savvy individual. As a matter of fact, it was the kindness and hard work of a very special young lady that gave our blog its new makeover. A very fitting makeover for a little girl who has given our lives such joy. What we hope to do is share with you children from various organizations, listed at the top of the blog, that are just waiting for someone to sacrifice all to bring them home. Sacrifice does not mean sell your house, cars, clothes and live in a cave. Sacrifice means the surrender of something for the sake of something someone else. Maybe your sacrifice may be of your time to list, post, or link about Carrington's Crusade. Perhaps your sacrifice may be a donation to help a family so they can bring their little one home. And sacrifice for you may be to give up some of your earthly riches so your home and family may know the blessing of a child. Whatever your sacrifice, God knows your heart and anything you do with pure intentions will bring Him great joy. We are so blessed to be given the chance to work with some very ethical and wonderful organizations who have such amazing people working tireless and selflessly to find forever families. They are sharing some of the children they know of who are waiting to be called son or daughter. The children will remain a part of Carrington's Crusade until they have a family or are no longer available for adoption. We are by no means set on who we partner with or which children we can share so if anyone knows of another group who has orphans on their hearts please let us know. This is a work in progress. A sort of beginning to a story which is still being written. Please be patient. Please be kind. Please offer any ideas. But most of all.....
please share!!!!!!!

Thank God you're back! When I clicked on the blog and it said restricted to invited members my only thought was, BUT I'LL MISS CARRINGTON!
Yeah!! You're back!! Like Emilie, was missing Carrington!
Loving your new look! :) Great to hear of your passion to help each of these kiddos! I am willing to sign up for your army...to share your passion with others, even if it's just facebook :) But, as I've told others before, the exponential amount of people that can be reached is amazing...IF they would just "share", as well! :D
