Did You Remember?

How many of you remembered that December 7th was an important date in the history of the United States? Let me give you a hint..."December 7th, a day which will live in infamy." This was said by our President of the United States the morning that Pearl Harbor was bombed by the Japanese 70 years ago. Over 1,177 men still lie entombed in the U.S.S. Arizona, having lost their lives all too early and for no provocation at all other than to have been a member of our armed forces. Why am I sharing this with you on Carrington's blog when she was not, nor was her mommy (just wanted to clear this up) alive at that time? Well because it reminds me of the situation my Carrington was in and that a sweet little girl named Kolina is in. We have been introduced to a beautiful little girl who is about to turn 9 years old and has been sentenced to an early death should she not have a mommy and daddy to come rescue her. Kolina has Down syndrome and is barely hanging on in the very same orphanage as Kelten and Teagan. I have chosen to parallel her situation with that of an event in our history because to me both are senseless acts that have happened. So many lives were lost that day at Pearl Harbor just as there are many lives being lost in orphanages all over Eastern Europe not because they have asked for it but because of who they are-their race, heritage, culture or whatever someone wants to say. Innocent lives. Yet on that day, 70 years ago there were many courageous individuals who rose to the call and went out to challenge that what was wrong. I have seen many families rise up against the enemy's desire to see these precious children lose their lives before they have ever felt loved. Families have endured heartaches, financial strains, and physical exhaustion to take on the enemy. It is a battle that must be won and it will take all of us uniting together to stand up against the enemy. 70 years ago the young men and woman had to pick themselves up from the jaws of the enemy and rise together to combat this injustice. It was a formidable task yet we did not back down. Friends, adoption is a formidable blessing despite some battles we must face. Little ones like my Carrington and sweet Kolina have become the victims of the enemy's desire to squelch God's love but we must not allow that. Kolina needs to be rescued just as so many soldiers needed rescued from certain death that December morning 7 decades ago. Please look at this sweet angel.

Please spread the word far and wide. Wouldn't it be great if a Texas family who lived close to us could be her forever family? Then she and Teagan and Kelten could continue to grow up together.
