Negativity, meanness, greed. These are all words which describe those who seemed determined to stop our boys from coming home. It was not and is not "About A Child" . If it were, Shelley, Amanda, and even those who cowardly hide behind an organization would not be hell bent on taking us out of our adoption. They would be so busy trying to find the families for the .....let's see...the many orphans there are in this world. Never once could our family have imagined that those people who asked us to help with getting formula etc to the children of Pleven would do this. Well, greed, negativity, and meanness will come back and it has.
We are so blessed to have Children's Hope International stand behind us as well as our social worker, Eileen Stancuckas because it was they who saw past the lies and mistakes to see a family who is passionate about orphans with special needs. Eileen came to our home, multiple times, which is so unlike what we encountered with our first home studies. She took the time to just hang out with our family and see the dynamics and then on her subsequent visits she interviewed everyone in our house who could talk. She researched the alleged claims made by the alleged many friends who supposedly called in to both my social worker and Reece's Rainbow to declare their fears for our children. Something ALL social workers are supposed to do but apparently some social workers must have missed that part of their job description. What came of all these visits was one of the best home studies written because it not only addressed all of the typical stuff needed for a home study but it also gave deep insight to who we are as a family. This home study was so well written that the USCIS stated so.
Once our home study was done, Nina and Megan of CHI, reviewed it and also declared they not only believed it was one the best home studies but that they also could not believe that our family was having to endure what we were because of 2 mistakes and lies being spread by other organizations. They gave their stamp of approval and their best wishes. DO you know they never even asked for any money until this was all done? Much unlike what we encountered before. CHI has demonstrated the highest of integrity during this whole process. They knew what their job was, kept my confidentiality, and were not so worried about themselves that they would not help a family bring two precious boys home. Now that is what I call an agency who stands behind their mission statement.
