We first met each other via our adoption through Reece's Rainbow back in 2009. Shawn and Sarah were heading over to Eastern Europe to bring home their first little girl at the same time we were going to bring home the triplets. Zoya has just blossomed into this amazing, smart, and spirited little girl. Our whole family just loves watching how Zoya has grown into the person she is through her blog. Sarah and I used to joke that if we ever adopted again we would go through the process at the same time so we could go over together. Well, I sort of beat her to that one but I am so excited to announce that she and Shawn have decided they are going to become parents to another princess with that blessed extra chromosome.
Meet Laine Hope Basile:
Laina is just a precious peanut who was born only a few months ago but has a serious heart defect that needs surgery before she gets too old. Shawn and Sarah are on a mission to get to Laina before she has any further issues with her heart and before her country shuts down for a transition. God has opened doors already for this family much as He did for us when we went to get the girls. There has even been a wonderful offer for a giveaway to help raise the needed funds to bring Laina home. Katie has generously offered their condo in Panama City Beach, Fl for a wonderful 4 night stay. Sarah and Shawn stayed there just this summer and said it is like heaven on earth. Zoya loved playing on the beach but wasn't too excited about the taste of the sand:)

We are going to make sure that no other child must endure what I shared with you on my post entitled "How Can This Be?". Even if it means one child at a time our family is going to do our best to help anyone who answers God's call to bring home one of these precious children who deserve a chance at life. I am personally honored to help my friend Sarah in her family's efforts to answer God's call. It is not easy especially when you have already been over there before, seen the things that happen over there, witness the struggles of helpless children who have been discarded by their society, smelled the aroma of death, and have already asked so many to help you do this, but God never promised us easy but He has promised us eternal reward with Him. Brian and I faced some pretty ugly things when we went back for the girls' adoption and it was so emotionally challenging yet God has rewarded us with not only 2 more children to love but the chance to watch our Carrington rise from the deathbed she was placed upon and become this little angel whose story is reaching people all over the globe; reaching into hearts of many to step out and trust in God to bring home one of her friends. This is the greatest of rewards: to watch a child have a chance to live, love, and flourish.
